You know the value of content marketing: it helps build your reputation for expertise, engages your audience, improves your search engine optimization (SEO) and gives you something to talk about on social media. Despite all these benefits, writing content often tends to fall to the bottom of the to-do list.

It’s no surprise, really. The benefits don’t come in the form of immediate gratification, plus it can be hard to come up with topics. Or maybe you still think of yourself as a math-and-science person for whom writing is simply not enjoyable.

No matter what the reason, today there are more ways than ever to get a jump start on your content. There are now content generators drawing on artificial intelligence to write blogs, social posts, video text and more. Some are even available to try for free. But is this a good thing?

Let’s talk about some of those tools and then a little more about using artificial intelligence as a part of your content marketing.

Contentbot.ai

ContentBot is an industry leader, driving much of the innovation that is bringing AI-generated content into mainstream use. They even have a feature called the “Blog Shot,” which allows you to create a blog with the click of a button. The site offers 5,000 free words, so you can generate a few blogs to try it out before paying for more. And with your free initial membership, you have access to all features, so you’ll have a pretty solid preview before paying.

Rytr

With a 10,000-character limit per month, Rytr allows you to generate 2,000 to 4,000 words on its free plan. That’s roughly four to eight one-page blogs, so it’s a great way to try out AI-generated content. Rytr offers some cool features, like the ability to highlight a section and then instruct the app to shorten the wording. From Facebook posts to emails, Rytr can handle a broad range of content types.

CopyAI

Copy.ai offers a full free month before you have to begin paying for its services. It’s got an advanced AI language model that allows content writing novices to utilize cutting-edge features that create professional content pieces. Users say the application is easy and straightforward.

NeuroFlash

This option is particularly useful for global marketing because it offers the ability to create copy, then click a button to generate unique text in eight different languages. You can get up to 2,000 words free every month, and the site offers application programming interface access as well as an image generator.

And now, the downside.

These tools are great for generating ideas, rephrasing text so that your writing styles don’t become stale or summarizing a longer blog into a short version.

There are a lot of features to appreciate in these automated content creators, but the downside is that they won’t be able to tap into the emotional connection that is an important part of a content marketing strategy. They produce content that is formulaic and not always accurate. Using an AI-based content generator can be a time-saver, but not necessarily for a finished product.
